I find the process of making art to be very therapeutic and I enter a state of almost active meditation when I am painting. The works I produce stem largely from my shamanic experiences of healing, journeying and working with teacher plant – especially San Pedro and ayahuasca. The paint itself also ‘speaks’ to me however, as does the canvas or material I am painting on.

The rainforest is a big inspiration to me as are the colours and culture and the scenery of the Andes mountains, although I am hardly a landscape artist in any traditional sense.

I am less drawn to canvas, although I do work with it, and usually prefer to paint onto tiles, rocks, wood or other natural and found materials. I use acrylic and fabric dyes in the main and allow the paint to lead me as I create.
